- Knoxville Chamber: Workforce & Education - The goal of the Knoxville Chamber’s Workforce & Education Department is to create, attract and sustain a world-class workforce in order to meet the needs of the region’s existing and target industries. We hope to achieve this through working with the education community, local workforce partners, and area businesses. A skilled workforce with 21st century skills is critical to our area’s well-being and business success, and therefore the quality of our education system is of the utmost importance.

- School Matters - School Matters is a website of the News-Sentinel. It is a community of people who care about education; a place where people can discuss local, state and national education issues that affect all of us; a place for constructive dialogue and creative solutions; and a source of inspiration, learning, and action.
- TN Race to the Top - This is a part of the Tennessee government’s website which talks about educational issues, specifically concerning the $501 million federal Race to the Top grant. After receiving the grant, Tennessee has embarked on a journey to improve education across the state. At the heart of improving student achievement is a focus on three main student performance goals: young students’ academic readiness, high school graduates’ readiness for college and careers, and higher rates of graduates enrolling and succeeding in post-secondary education.
- Tennessee Achieves - The mission of TN Achieves is to increase higher education opportunities for Tennessee students by providing last dollar scholarships and mentor guidance. In Knox County, graduating students are eligible for the program which provides up to $3,000 in scholarships a year for students to attend area community colleges. Mentor guidance is also provided to students in the program.
- The Children’s Reading Foundation of Knox County - The Children’s Reading Foundation is an initiative to increase the reading level of children in Knox County. The goal is to ensure all children learn to read early and well by providing education and encouragement to parents (and caregivers) on their important role in raising a reader.

- S.C.O.R.E. - The State Collaborative on Reforming Education is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization chaired by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. SCORE’s mission is to work with state and local governments to encourage sound policy decisions in public education, and to advance innovative reform on a statewide basis.
- Knox County Council PTA - KCC PTA serves to unite the PTA and PTSA local units to address issues beyond the scope of a single family, unit or school. Organized into a council, KCC PTA units are empowered through one voice for solutions to community-wide issues affecting every child.
- Tennessee PTA - The TN PTA is a state-wide organization which unites the forces of home, school and community on behalf of children and youth.
