Vine Middle Magnet Community School hosted a College and Career Fair for students on Oct. 26. The Career Fair provided an opportunity for Vine’s 475 students to learn about a variety of career options, ranging from being an engineer, computer programmer, welder or veterinarian to being an actor, writer, firefighter or police officer.
“Our annual College and Career Fair exposes our students to a wide range of professions, so they’ll have a better understanding of the many options they have,” said Kendra Berry, Vine’s Community School site resource coordinator. “They also learn that there are different paths available to succeed professionally.”
More than 40 area businesses, colleges, universities and other organizations participated in the Career Fair. These include: Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Denso Manufacturing, the Knoxville Utilities Board, Asheville Highway Animal Hospital, Project GRAD Knoxville, the Clarence Brown Theatre, Zoo Knoxville, Tennessee State University, Roane State Community College, Pellissippi State Community College, Lincoln Memorial University and many others.
The Career Fair was sponsored by Great Schools Partnership, LINKS Inc., Project GRAD, Uunik Academy and Vine Middle.
