On Thursday, March 26, Tennessee’s Commissioner of Education Candice McQueen visited Pond Gap Elementary and South Knoxville Elementary– two Community Schools– and was inspired by what she saw.
McQueen said Community Schools certainly allow students to be successful because of the services made possible by community partners. Community schools have the right people on the bus.
Great Schools Partnership, along with several sponsoring community partners, are thankful for the Commissioner’s first official visit to Knoxville and the chance to share our schools and our story.
McQueen closed her visit by sharing her vision for the future of education in Tennessee, and answered questions asked by Knox County citizens and public officials who care about the state of schools in our area.
Thank you to everyone who helped make McQueen’s visit so great.
